Getting to Campus from the Airport
By Car. Saint Joseph’s is located about 15 miles from Philadelphia International Airport. The easiest route to campus is to take Interstate 95 North to Interstate 76 West and I-76 West to Exit 339, for Route 1/City Avenue. To get from I-95 North to I-76 West you will merge onto Penrose Avenue/PA-291 East for several miles, travelling over the Platt Memorial bridge. At the first light after the bridge follow signs to I-76 West/Valley Forge and bear a slight left at the S. 26th Street/PA-291 stoplight. S. 26th Street/PA- 291 will merge with I-76 West which you should follow to Exit 339 (left exit). Take Exit 339 and travel west on Route 1/City Avenue for two miles to reach campus.
By Public Transportation. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) provides public transportation services in Philadelphia and its neighboring counties. The easiest way to reach campus by public transportation is to take SEPTA’s regional rail (R1) to 30th Street Station, transfer to the R5, and take the R5 to Overbrook Station. Get off the train at Overbrook Station and then walk up City Avenue about one-half mile to campus.
