Registration & Abstract Guidelines

Welcome to the abstract submission page for the 2013 SJU Sigma Xi Research Symposium. Before you can submit an abstract, you must have already registered via the Symposium Registration page and received an Order #. The Order # is available on the Order Summary page after successfully registering and also in an Order Confirmation email. If you have not already registered, please register before proceeding with the directions below. The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 5:00 pm EST.

Fill out the fields below and READ the "Guidelines on Abstract Submission" before uploading your abstract file.

Guidelines on Abstract Submission

  • Abstracts must be submitted as Microsoft Word documents (in a “.doc” file)
  • Text must be 12 pt Times font
  • Abstracts must not exceed 300 words in length
  • Abstracts are limited to one single page with 1-inch margins

Please follow guidelines below for headers

First line – title 
Second line – authors (last name, first initial for all authors. The faculty mentor(s) name to be underlined and the presenting author’s name to be followed by an asterisk)
Third line – Departmental affiliation
Fourth line – The name of the school
Fifth line – The city, state and zipcode of the school

(If multiple colleges/universities and/or departments are involved, list each one, with its address. Superscript numbers can be used to identify which authors come from which institutions).

Please leave one blank line between the header and the body of the abstract.

Example:

The activation of NF-kappaB in alveolar macrophages by muramyl dipeptide.
Smith, A1*, Johnson, B1, Brown, C1, Joseph, S. 2, and Jones, D1.
