BIO 620 Bioinformatics

Introduction to the use of computes in biology. Students learn about important scientific questions and the contemporary tools used to answer them. Topics include genome sequence assembly and annotation, database mining, genome organization, phylogenetics and genetics of human disease. Two 50-minute lecture periods, one four-hour lab period.
