CHM 210-215 Organic Chemistry (6 credits)

Aliphatic compounds including hydrocarbons, their halogen derivatives, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, acids, substituted acids, acid derivatives, polybasic acids, amines, carbohydrates, and proteins. Aromatic hydrocarbons, their halogen derivatives, the oxygen and nitrogen derivatives, sulfonic acids, and polynuclear hydrocarbons. Nomenclature, structure, and name reactions are stressed.

Prerequisite: CHM 120-125.
