EDU 160 Schools in Society (3 credits)

The course studies American education structurally. The origins, evolution, and realities of contemporary public and private schools are examined through critical readings. Visits to elementary classrooms in multicultural settings provide a strong link to the teacher’s world and the course content. Enrollment in Field Experience EDU 160F, is required with this course. Satisfies Freshman Seminar GEP requirement.
