IHS 256 HIV/AIDS: Sexuality, Money, Politics, Research, Public Health, and Ethics (3 credits)

This course offers the student the opportunity for an in-depth assessment of one of the most critical public health issues facing the world today. Topics include current HIV/AIDS information as well as exploration of related issues including politics, sexuality, homophobia, ethical Issues, discrimination, international implications, and worldwide economic effects. This class will include site visits to local agencies in the Philadelphia area as well. (Note that this course meets the requirement of an ethics intensive overlay course in the GEP).
