Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Wilminton Delaware
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides temporary housing to families of seriously ill children undergoing treatment. The group's signature Ronald McDonald House program maintains some 270 facilities near hospitals in more than two dozen countries. RMHC also offers more than 80 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, designed to provide places of respite within hospitals.
Located on the third floor of A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, the center, opened in February 2008, provides a space to help families with seriously or chronically ill or injured children to fully participate in their child’s care while staying connected to their social and work communities. The new center features a common living room area where families can relax outside of their child’s hospital. The Family Resource Center/Ronald McDonald Family Room also offer a business center where adults can check in on work, a medical library, and conference rooms/labs where families can consult with doctors about treatments for their children.
