As the Food Marketing Program celebrates its fiftieth Anniversary, we are proud to present the placement report of the largest graduating class in our many years and as the largest major in the Haub School of Business.
The class of 2012 graduated in May from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Out of the 114 students who received degrees, 19 were Cooperative Education students. As of July 2012, 66% of the students who participated have been placed in the food and allied industries. Each of the following information is represented by its value: number of placement participants (88), non-participants (21), number of students who gained employment (58) as well as those who are currently job searching (30) at the end of July 2012; and those who went on to graduate school (5).
Salary
The salary range of the 58 placement participant graduates who gained full time employment by July 31, 2012 was $30,000 – $53,000; with an average starting cash offer of $41,500. These statistics do not include fringe benefits such as car allowances, medical insurance and other incentive programs. Ten signing bonuses were offered by ten different employers and averaged $3,500.

Interviews
The academy arranged 1012 individual interview sessions for students that included second interviews for the 88 participants. Sixty companies recruited on-campus while three performed interviews at their companies. In total, sixty-three companies participated in the Academy of Food Marketing Placement Program.
