New Product Launch Overview:
In
today’s pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical devices and diagnostics
markets, the pressure for launch success is greater than ever (fewer launch
opportunities than in the past, higher development budgets, need to replace
revenue lost to generics). This course gives you an opportunity to develop and
practice your launch management skills in the risk-free environment of a new,
sophisticated simulation of today’s healthcare markets. Within the context of
this product launch, you will also deepen your understanding of essential brand
management principles.
The objectives of the seminar are to:
- Enhance decision-making capabilities with emphasis on critical success factors
- Develop high impact strategic brand plans leveraging the company’s strategic planning process
- Hone pre-marketing, segmentation and positioning know-how
- Analyze the promotional and communication effectiveness at the initial stages of the product life cycle
- Manage key stakeholder engagement and market access for launch success
In the simulation used for the seminar, the mission of the team is to launch a new product with maximum return on commercial investment. Teams will have to define their strategy through market, competitor and product profile analyses. They are required to make clear choices about positioning, segmentation, messages and stakeholder prioritization. The teams will then implement their strategy through pre-marketing launch and post-launch phases.
The challenge spans four years of strategic decisions (in just two days), starting with pre-launch marketing activities. It will focus on five key elements: segmentation, positioning, marketing-mix, stakeholder prioritization and market access. Participants will get feedback on their performance after each simulated year and progress in their understanding of key metrics as well as pivotal success drivers during the phases of the launch process.
Practical hands-on decisions will include:
- Pre-launch marketing
- Brand Positioning and differentiation
- Communication messages
- Customer segmentation and targeting
- Promotional mix and market development tools
- Field force allocation
- Physician “ladder of adoption” process
- Market access programs
