"I'll never forget my first Accounting Society meeting the first week of Freshman year at Saint Joe's. It was one of the most intimidating experiences I encountered that week, as I heard about the big four and how to prepare myself to get the job I wanted- working at one of the top accounting firms in the city. Although it was intimidating, it motivated me for the next four years at Saint Joe's. I attended Accounting Society meetings Freshman through Junior year and the people I met are the ones who influenced my decisions throughout my college education. Among my peers I got to know many successful students, those of which who had recently gotten internships with big firms, or who had earned other honors within the Accounting Department, such as Star or Sutula scholars. These students gave me the most helpful advice when deciding my path before and after graduation by encouraging me to work hard, and offering advice when choosing a firm to intern with. After interning and accepting a full- time offer with PricewaterhouseCoopers my Junior year, I ran for Accounting Society president and was named the president for my senior year. I wanted to give back to the Accounting Society after all it had provided for me. That year was filled with many meetings, in which I was able to network with alumni whom had graduated in years before. Additionally, I was able to get to know many underclassman and offer them advice in making important decisions in their academic career, expanding my network of Saint Joseph students. This networking still continues today, as I have been outside of college for six and a half years, and I always look forward to attending Acocunting Society events and networking with a great group of fellow Hawks."
