Industry Symposia

Great ideas can come from sharing with like-minded individuals.  The Center for Food Marketing brings together top thought leaders in the food industry for various industry symposia each year.  The 2011 year has been a very eventful year.



Pennsylvania Annual Farm Show

January, 2011

The Center began 2011 at Pennsylvania's Annual Farm Show in Harrisburg, the largest indoor agriculture show in the country where we managed a booth dedicated to educating consumers about the PA Preferred brand and surveying them about their perceptions on marketing materials and concepts developed for the PA Department of Agriculture.  The Center also worked throughout the year on various marketing and educational related activities in support of the PA Department of Agriculture.       

 Danisco

February, 2011

We were hired by Danisco, a world leader in food ingredients, enzymes and bio-based solutions, to customize a program on marketing fundamentals for their food science and technology team members held at its headquarters in Kansas

Saint Joseph's University Food Marketing Program is pleased to host the fifth annual Food Industry Summit. These continue to be challenging times for the Food Industry. Communication and conducting business with our customers is changing at a rapid pace, demanding major shifts in marketing dollars. Join Saint Joseph's University's internationally renowned food marketing program at a one-day food summit to gain insights on marketplace issues and developments from industry leaders

Ferrero 

April/May 2011 and July 2011

Two programs we conducted for the senior and junior management groups of Ferrero Germany included a retail study tour that examined the Baltimore, Washington D.C., and New York City marketplaces, and classroom sessions on the U.S. food industry, scenario planning, and leadership

 PLMA 

June 2011

Saint Joseph's University proudly served again as the home of the Private Label Manufacturers Association's Executive Education Program held on our campus in June.  This program consists of two concurrent tracks that cover key tactical and strategic elements for PLMA member manufacturers, retailers, and other professionals working with store and private label brands

 The USDA Cochran Foudation

Septmeber 2011

The USDA Cochran Foundation selected the Center to customize a 10-day program for food ingredients professionals from Latin America.  Led by George Latella, the group attended the Prepared Foods New Product conference in Florida.  We then delivered classroom sessions and facilitated study tours to manufacturers and retailers in the Philadelphia region, which provided the participants with information on the latest trends, new product development, food labeling, food policy, and best practices

Wawa Corporation

April through November 2011

Relying on the expertise of our management and food marketing faculty, Wawa selected Saint Joseph's to design and deliver a professional development program for senior-level team members, customized around the company's leadership philosophy, values, and competenci
