Admission Requirements

Applications for admission to the College of Professional and Liberal Studies are considered at any time. We encourage you to apply several weeks before the term begins; however, applications are considered until the first day of class. As an applicant, you may enroll in a maximum of two courses while your file awaits official transcript documentation and an admissions decision.   We look forward to working with you through the application process.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed online application or paper application
  • Official sealed transcript(s) from all institutions attended
  • If you have fewer than 30 college level credits, high school transcript or equivalent
  • Personal Statement: outlining your professional goals and educational objectives
  • A scheduled transfer evaluation appointment

Types of Admission to the College of Professional and Liberal Studies

Full Admission - Degree Candidate
Transfer students are required to have a minimum cumulative average of 2.5 for full acceptance. 

The Bridge Program
This program enables students (22 years or older) to take day courses either on a full-time or part-time basis or in combination with evening courses.  Bridge students are enrolled as PLS students and may choose a major and curriculum outlined in the day or the PLS catalog.  A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for college transfer students.  The Bridge Program does not require entrance examinations or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Opportunity Program
Applicants with a high school average of less than 80 or a college cumulative average of 2.5 or less may be accepted to the Arts and Science Opportunity Program or the Business Opportunity Program. Students accepted to this program must be selected and are required to fulfill the program requirements as outlined by the Director of Admissions.
