Wednesday, October 31, 2012 – Formal announcement of the 2013 Summer Scholars Program to eligible students via e-mail.
Tuesday, November November 6, 2012 - First information session (Free period, President's Lounge, Campion) for students interested in the SSP.
Monday, November 19, 2012 – Electronic application system becomes activated.
Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - Second information session (Free Period, President's Lounge, Campion) for students interested in the SSP.
Friday, February 8, 2013 – Deadline for submission of completed application, and proposal. All materials must be submitted using the electronic application system.
Monday, February 18, 2013 - 2 letters of recommendation, one from your prospective mentor and one from another person who knows you well, are due. We will contact the references you list on your application to request the letters.
Friday, March 1 , 2013 – Departments will submit prioritized lists of students to be supported by the Summer Scholars program.
March 11 -15, 2013 – The Summer Scholars Committee will review the applications and make awards based on departmental and faculty recommendations and the amount of funding available.
Monday, March 18, 2013 – Letters will be sent (by e-mail only) to all applicants indicating whether or not they have been selected for the 2013 Summer Scholars Program.
Friday, March 22, 2013 – Deadline for students offered 2013 Summer Scholars positions to accept or decline the position. In the event that positions are declined, positions will be offered to students on the alternate list.
Friday, March 29, 2013 – Deadline for alternates to accept or decline positions (if available)
Friday, April 12, 2013 – Deadline for 2013 Summer Scholars to complete and submit all required paperwork for human resources (and residence life, if on-campus housing was requested). Failure to complete required paperwork by this deadline may result in withdraw of the award.
Sunday, May 19, 2013 – Move in date for students granted on-campus housing. No other move in dates will be scheduled except by arrangment between the student and Residence Life. Housing is provided for 11.5 weeks.
Monday, May 20, 2013 – Formal start of the 2013 Summer Scholars Program (some scholars may start at other times as approved by their mentors); Summer Scholars and Faculty Mentors reception (time and location TBA)
Friday, August 2, 2013 – Formal conclusion of the 2013 Summer Scholars Program and last day to move out day for students with on-campus housing.
November, 2013 – Annual Summer Scholars Dinner (date and location TBA)
March/April 2014 – Celebration of Student Achievement (dates and locations TBA)
