Baccalaureate Mass

The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 5:15 p.m. This liturgy is a Eucharistic celebration in the Catholic tradition of the university. All graduates and families are welcome to attend regardless of faith denomination.

Commencement robes should not be worn for the Baccalaureate Mass.

Guest Arrival and Seating

The main tent will be available for guest seating. Those planning to attend the Baccalaureate Liturgy are urged to arrive early, as there is no reserved seating. Please feel free to sit with family and friends.

Elements of Liturgy

The liturgy will include the Introductory Rites, the Liturgy of the Word, the liturgy of the Eucharist, the Commissioning of Graduates, and the Concluding Rites. Music and prayers for the celebration will be printed in the Liturgy program, which will be distributed by ushers to all guests present.

Distribution of Communion

Eucharistic ministers will be stationed at several positions of the tent for an efficient distribution of communion, and the ushers will direct guests to the nearest station.

Following the Commissioning and Concluding Rites, the Jesuits con-celebrating will process out of the tent as the closing hymn is sung.

Rain Plan

This event is scheduled to take place "rain or shine". Modified ceremonial procedures will only be enacted in the event of unusually severe weather conditions.
