The mission of External Affairs is to create supportive educational and business relationships between Saint Joseph's University and a host of key external groups and constituencies.
For more information on the various components of External Affairs, please visit their individual Web sites:
- Government and Community Relations is the University's central point of outreach to government officials and to neighbors in the Philadelphia and Lower Merion communities. The office secures government grants for University projects; interacts with elected officials and their staff on the local, state and federal levels; and is a partner with the Wynnefield Resident's Association, The Merion Cvic Association, The Bala Neighbors Group and The Overbrook Farms Club.
- University Communications is the media outreach arm of Saint Joseph's University. The office promotes SJU by pitching interesting student, research, and scholarship stories to local and national media. University Communications also writes and edits many of the University's major publications and handles crisis communications.
- Marketing Communications brings greater awareness and appreciation of Saint Joseph's University by providing a consistent voice in the print, graphic and multimedia-driven promotion of the University. The office arranges and coordinates all advertisement purchases for departments, programs and the University in general.
- Saint Joseph's University Press is the publishing hub of the University. The Press aids in the graphic design of hundreds of publications, fliers, postcards and other materials to maintain consistency with the University's brand. The Press also furthers the scholarly mission of the University by publishing scholarly and trade books that reflect its heritage.
