THE ANNUAL LOYOLA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS NOW AVAILABLE

As a University community, we continually look for ways to help you meet the cost of a Saint Joseph's education. To that end, it is with great pleasure that I announce the continuation of the Loyola Annual Scholarship as an additional component of the merit aid program for current students.

The Loyola Annual Scholarships will be determined via a competitive application process and granted to a total of 40 rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors each year. A total of $160,000 will be awarded annually in non-renewable amounts of $4,000 per scholarship.

The Loyola Annual Scholarships - named for Saint Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus - seek to recognize students who, in addition to being among our best academically and demonstrating a high level of dedication to the University's mission, also have unmet financial need. Other criteria for the scholarship will include a record of institutional engagement as related to the University mission.

To apply for the scholarship you must submit the following items by May 1, 2013

  1. An application that is available at: Loyola Scholarship Webpage
  2. A 300 word essay discussing an activity or activities related to the University's mission.

In addition, students must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with Hawk Central by May 1, 2013. The FAFSA is available online at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

Upon submission of the application, your current SJU transcript will be provided to supplement your application by the Student Records Office. Scholarship notifications will be sent on June 10, 2013.
