Creating Persistent Links to EBSCOhost
Follow these 4 simple steps to create Persistent Links to EBSCOhost resources:
  1. Search EBSCOhost and find the article of interest.
  2. Click on the Title of the Article and that link will take you to the"citation" display format: citation icon
  3. Towards the bottom of the citation display screen is the "Persistent link to this record (Permalink)" --- copy this link.
  4. Final Important Step:
Access to the persistent link articles in EBSCOhost is restricted to currently registered SJU students, faculty and staff.  SJU users on campus will require no additional validation.  However, faculty who use these links in their Blackboard site, eCollege site or on their syllabus MUST alter the link so that the Proxy Server authentication will be triggered when a student clicks on the link.

Simply prepend the link with the following: http://ezproxy.sju.edu/login?url=

For example, to create a persistent link to an article in EBSCOhost's Academic Search Premier

1. Search EBSCOhost and find the article of interest.

2. Click on the Title of the Article and that link will take you to the"citation" display format: citation icon

3. Towards the bottom of the citation display screen is the "Persistent link to this record (Permalink)" --- copy this link.

4. Final Important Step---
Simply prepend the link with the following:http://ezproxy.sju.edu/login?url=

In our example the link

http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&jid=GLD&site=ehost-live

becomes

   http://ezproxy.sju.edu/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=aph&jid=GLD&site=ehost-live
