“Roots Deep Enough to Grow Tall”
The Saint Joseph’s Community Garden is committed to introducing members of the university community to the joys and responsibilities of caring for plants that provide food and other benefits to both people and the planet.
Members pay an annual $25 fee with 3 hours of volunteering OR volunteer 10 hours.

After joining, you will be added to the SJU Community Garden Blackboard site where you can find more information and communicate with fellow gardeners!
Once a member:
- Membership in our community entitles a member to the benefits of the communal plots
- Members are eligible to receive their own plot (members submit a new application each spring)
- Plots are awarded on an annual basis with preference given to previous members who have successfully cared for their plots
- In addition, members are encouraged to attend community events sponsored by the Community Garden
