Working Group on Recycling

Mission statement for the Sustainability Working Group on Recycling

As stewards of the earth, it is the responsibility of every individual at Saint Joseph’s University to ensure and uphold the natural balance of the earth’s resources, while meeting the needs of the present, without compromising the quality of life for future generations. The Recycling Program’s mission is to engage the SJU community in this sustainability endeavor by increasing awareness and promoting a willingness to participate, both internally and externally, in conjunction with the University’s Mission of the pursuit of the greater good.

  • We are committed to expanding recycling opportunities, improving services, and promoting progress.
  • The journey begins with 3 R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle.  The principle of the 3 R’s enables us to decrease our environmental footprint and prolong the earth’s resources at a rate it can be replenished.
  • The Recycling Program, through education and information updates, continues to heighten the SJU community’s responsiveness to think before buying, using, and discarding items.

What can I recycle at SJU?
