The Career Development Center strives to prepare and empower students and alumni to discern and achieve professional goals throughout their lifetime. Through the development of meaningful and productive relationships with industry and campus partners, we connect students and alumni with experiential and professional opportunities and resources.
The Career Development Center launched careerTracker in fall 2014 to the freshmen class and has expanded the program in fall 2015 to include freshmen and sophomores. The co-curricular program, designed to layer career and professional development into and across students’ four years at SJU, introduces a monthly career action step to help students advance their career plans. The monthly, developmentally-appropriate action steps help students advance their competency in 7 key areas – Self Knowledge, Professional Presence, Experiential Education, Workplace Skills, Industry Knowledge, Networking, and Interviewing – with foundational and advanced outcomes.
