We encourage you to take advantage of the many programs and resources that are available.
If you have any questions feel free to drop in 239 Campion, call 610 660-1003 or just email ddavis@sju.edu.
Hang Out With Fellow Commuters in The Perch!
A great place for students to hang out on campus is the commuter lounge located on main campus in the Perch, with lockers, a full size refrigerator/freezer and microwave, and space to hang out or complete class assignments. Free coffee and soda is available after five o'clock on weeknights and all day during the weekend. Catch the game on the many prism televisions, shoot a game of pool, get that paper done on the computers and printers, or chill out in the Commuter Lounge (next to the Computer space). It's a fun place to be when Philly's favorite teams have games, especially during post season!
Parking on the Maguire Campus
Parking on the Maguire Campus is very limited. Commuter students are encouraged to park in Hawks' Landing or the Mandeville Lot in order to avoid having to "hunt" for spots or receiving parking citations for parking illegally. Please remember that walking escorts are always available to and from your vehicle and class by calling 610-660-1111.
The only lot that allowsfor limited student parking on the Maguire Campus is Duperrault Hall Lot. This lot is ungated and is the first lot on the left just past the Barnes Foundation property if you are coming from the direction of Old Lancaster Road. If you are coming from the direction of Raynham Road, Duperrault Hall Lot is the last lot on the right just before the Barnes Foundation property. Parking spaces in this lot are limited and are usually filled throughout the day. Access to the two gated lots on the Maguire Campus is restricted to authorized faculty and staff.
Please remember that when you park in any of the University parking lots, you must display a current parking permit.
Lockers
Lockers are available to rent for $10 per year or $5 per semester. Contact Mary Beth Mallowe for locker rental information at 610-660-1066 or mallowe@sju.edu.
Meal Options on Campus
Saint Joseph's University offers a variety of dining options, and all students, including commuters, have the opportunity to sign up for a meal plan. Students choose a meal plan that is appropriate for their lifestyle, whether it be all-you-care-to-eat dining or a la carte purchasing.
Where to go-The main cafeteria is located in Campion Student Center, which is the hub of campus. Eating on campus is a great way to join other students to plan club activities, study, and meet new people.
Cosi, located next to Hawks Landing, is another place to order a meal on campus (Cosi accepts Declining Balance). The Bellarmine cafe and the Mandeville vending cart offer coffee and other snacks to grab between classes. There is also a Starbucks right next to campus that accepts Declining Balance.
Declining Balance-If you would rather pay for a meal as you go instead of having a set amount of meals, you have the option of using declining balance. The money you pay for declining balance is credited to your SJU Hawk Swipe Card. You can go to the Gray Cafe (in Campion) or Cosi to use the money to buy a meal. You can add more money online to your Declining Balance as needed.
