Residence Life

Science Residential Learning Community

The Science RLC attracts and supports science majors who seek a community with a common academic interest, a collective respect for individual study habits and an understanding of the benefit of collaborative study. This housing option provides student and faculty interactions through academic, programmatic and experiential opportunities, and supports students who are preparing for post-graduate work in medicine, dentistry, health care, teaching or research. This housing option has the added benefit of a faculty member who lives on the Science hall and provides individual tutoring, support and advising to science majors.  Students that participate in the BEAGLE Program are automatically placed in the Science RLC The Science RLC is housed in LaFarge Residence Center.

Name: Kathy McGee

Class Year: 2016

Major: Biology

Hometown: Churchville, PA

Fun Fact: I was within a few feet of Jennifer Hudson when she went to Sesame Place for her son's first birthday.

Why are you excited to be the RLC RA?

I'm excited to be an RA in the Science RLC because I am looking forward to fostering a community of focused students who are enthusiastic about science.  I can't wait to help every resident have an awesome freshman year, especially through our various floor events and activities.

Why should someone apply to the RLC?

Living in the Science RLC gives science students the unique opportunity to be surrounded by people with the same passion for the sciences that they have.  You will automatically have a group of people with similar majors to relate to and study with.  Also, when living in the Science RLC, you'll be exposed to staff, various networking opportunities, and other floor events that will make science fun and further your knowledge, too.
