Apply 2014 (fall)

Our test optional policy:

Beginning with the incoming class of 2014, the submission of the SAT and ACT standardized test scores is optional for admission. Saint Joseph’s University chose this new criterion in order to support the Jesuit mission of providing the opportunity of education to all talented students. Our admission evaluation will be a review of the student as a whole person. Academic information, recommendations, and the record of extracurricular involvement and evidence of special talent, leadership and service will be reviewed. Students will continue to have the option to submit an SAT or ACT score if they want additional representation presented to the admissions committee. Our test optional program is a four-year pilot that will continue until the evaluation of admission for the class of incoming students in 2017. At that time, assessment of this procedure will be conducted to determine if the program will continue.

What we look for in our students:

Saint Joseph’s University will continue to take a holistic approach when reviewing applications for admission. A variety of factors are considered during the application process including, but not limited to strength of high school, rigor of academic curriculum, service, and overall academic achievement and community involvement. The variety of factors aids the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in its goal of building a class of intellectually curious students that will contribute to our campus community.
