What are Associate Members anyway???

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity was the first national fraternal organization to officially end "pledging" as were known New Member programs for most of the 20th century.  In order to educate rather than discipline, encourage rather than direct, the term "Associate Members" became the term for new members of Lambda Chi Alpha.

"AM"s are members of the Fraternity.  It is as simple as that.  Upon receiving a bid to join our membership and after having been pinned an associate member, each AM is entitled to all the favor and responsibility that our organization holds, excluding all Ritual matters.  AMs are allowed to vote on non-Ritual matters as well as run for any High Zeta officer position, other than High Phi.

Last year, we welcomed 15 new Associate Members to become fully initiated Brothers over the course of the year.  The Associate Member program typically lasts 8 weeks and provides ample opportunity to remain involved in any other extracurricular, athletic or academic program currently involved with or planning to join.

Lambda Chi Alpha Associate Members have fun and educational programs.  We have events with new members of other sororities and fraternities as well as Fraternity Education sessions regularly.

If you are interested in becoming an Associate Member of Lambda Chi Alpha, please contact Recruitment Chairman, James McKissick at flyerstime@aol.com
