Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Phi Lambda Zeta
Lambda Chi Alpha at Saint Joseph's University has three philanthropies that we contribute to:
Lambda Chi raises funds for the ACS (www.cancer.org) through the annual Lambda Chi Alpha Softball Tournament held in Fairmount Park. The event raised $5,000 this year for cancer research and treatment. It attracted over 600 players this year on 54 teams, and over 3,000 attendees.
Each Lambda Chi Alpha chapter internationally collects canned goods and donations for the LARGEST one-day fraternal philanthropy donation (http://www.lambdachi.org/events/fooddrive). This year, the Saint Joseph's University chapter collected their highest total in six years with over 5,000 pounds of food.
Steve "Stumpy" DiPaolo was a graduate of Saint Joseph's University in 1996 who was killed by a drunk driver in August of 2001. His friends and family have created this scholarship fund. After the viewing, Lambda Chi Brothers, alumni and undergraduate, pooled resources for a donation to Steve's Monsignor Bonnor Ice Hockey Club for which he was a coach. With funds from the annual Lambda Chi Alpha Softball Tournament, Lambda Chi donated $1,000 to the "Friends of Stumpy Scholarship Fund" this past May. |
