About Us

The Francis A. Drexel Library, located between the Barbelin building and the Science Center, supports the academic programs of Saint Joseph's University with books and periodicals in both print and electronic formats, research e-Resources, audiovisuals and microforms. The Library has a collection of textbooks and accompanying materials for grades K-12 and a large selection of children's literature. In addition, the Library provides circulating collections of popular reading and audiobooks. The Saint Joseph's University Archives is housed in the Drexel Library.

The Library's holdings are accessible through our Library catalog. Access to many major Web-based services is provided to support student and faculty research.

  • Guidance in locating government information and in the using the Curriculum Materials Center

Locating Materials in the Library: 



Network Connections

Computer Workstations - The Drexel Library has over 30 networked computer workstations available on a first-come, first-served basis.


Connections for Laptops:

The Drexel Library has over 90 hard-wired network connections for laptops.  These
 connections are in study carrels and other publicly-accessible locations on the first, second, and third floors of the Library.

In addition the open Reference area on the first floor and the open study area on the second floor are wireless network areas. Students must have a wireless card (configured for our network) in their PCs/Macs. For instructions on connecting to the wireless network visit IT's Helpdesk page.

Laptop computers require a special setup to print in the Library (for both wireless and hard-wired connections) and at this time only Windows based PCs running Windows XP can be configured to print (no Vista and no Macs):
