  Which catalog should I use?

The Classic Catalog	Best used when searching for a specific title or author. To check for Course Reserves Log into "My Library Account" to renew books and work with preferred searches. Browse the "Featured Lists" to see lists of new books, popular reading, SJU Theses and Dissertations and more.
The Discovery Catalog	Best used when searching with keywords for a specific topic. Graphical interface allows for modifying search terms with a "Word Cloud" display on the left and" faceted search terms" on the right. To view a book Summary  or Table of Contents. more about the Discovery Catalog

Use this self-service system for borrowing books from the libraries of over 60 colleges/universities across PA and neighboring states. Saint Joseph's students, faculty and staff may search the virtual catalog and directly request:

• books that we do not own 
• books currently checked out or otherwise unavailable at Saint Joseph's Libraries.
• Note: No journals or journal articles may be requested
  
  

 

WorldCat (via OCLC's FirstSearch interface) is a cooperative database of bibliographic records contributed by 60,000 libraries. More than 100 million global information sources in all formats—books, full text, electronic books and journals, Web-based articles, and audio and video recordings.

Although this database can show records from around the world, our implementation is set up to clearly specify when a resource is available from SJU (as well as other regional academic institutions). When a resource is not available at SJU or a nearby college/university, you can always submit a request for an Interlibrary Loan.

Offers access to the resources of the 47 national libraries of Europe in 20 languages. The European Library gives access to 150 million entries which can be both digital or bibliographical (books, posters, maps, sound recordings, videos, etc.).
