Parking:

As with most universities, parking is usually at a premium.  The parking lots shown below are for those vehicles with valid SJU parking tags issued by Campus Security. For those without valid SJU parking tags, some parking may be found on the streets immediately surrounding the Campus (see Campus Map).

The following information regarding temporary parking and visitor parking has been excerpted from the SJU Security site
http://www.sju.edu/resources/security/parking.html on 6/5/08:

"Temporary permits are available for visitors and guests. Temporary permits must be applied for at the Security Office in Barbelin/Lonergan, room #13 and can be picked up at any time 24 hours a day. All temporary permits will expire 24 hours following the date of issue with the exception of long term temporary and handicapped permits. All visitor's should park in the Mandeville parking lot where the gate attendant will provide them with a 1 day permit. There is no guarantee that parking will be available near the visitor's destination. Faculty and Administrators who expect large numbers of visitors or groups of visitors must make application to the Security Office at least ten (10) days in advance. The Security Office will prepare permits to accommodate the visitor's or groups.

Students who wish to obtain a temporary permit for a guest must apply in the Security Office in person with the registration information of the vehicle they wish to park on campus. There will be a charge of one (1) dollar per day. "
