E-Journals

Journal Articles vs. Journal Issues:

  • When you want to locate journal articles on a given topic in electronic format, go to our Research by Subject page. These large electronic indexes are purchased by the Library and allow you to search the content of individual journal articles from many different journals. They provide access to the citation, abstract and often the full text of an article. If the Library does not subscribe to the journal in print, you many request an Interlibrary Loan for the article. Information pages describing each database are available to the right of the resource link on the Library's Research by Subject page.

Example: To find journal articles on "Multiple-personality disorder" go to our Databases by Subject page and search under Multi-Subject: "Academic Search Premier" and "PA Research II"; under Health: "Health Source: Nursing/Academic"; and under Social Sciences: "PsycARTICLES" and "PsycINFO".

  • When you want to locate the a specific journal issue or title in electronic format (e.g. "The Education Digest" or "Journal of Accountancy"), there are several points of access. Follow the suggestions below.
