Code of Federal Regulations

The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the Executive departments and agencies of the federal government.The CFR is divided into 50 titles which represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. Each title is divided into chapters which usually bear the name of the issuing agency.

Prepared by the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress.

Federal Register

The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents. Helpful Hints provide instructions for searching the database. Documents may be retrieved in ASCII "TEXT" format (full text, graphics omitted), Adobe Portable Document.

Regulations.gov

This site allows the public to search current federal regulations enforced by the various agencies and departments of the United States government. It may also be used to submit comments on proposed changes to regulations during the review period.

Public Laws and Private Laws

The Public Laws and Private Laws database is a collection of the laws enacted by Congress beginning with 104th in 1995 -1996 and continuting to the present. It is prepared and published by the Office of the Federal Register (OFR), National Archives and Records Administration.

Supreme Court Decisions 1937-1975  

The full text of Supreme Court decisions issued between 1937 and 1975, containing 7,407 decisions from volumes 300 through 422 of the United States Reports has been provided to the Government Printing Office through the efforts of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget. These opinions were created from the U.S. Air Force historic file of Supreme Court decisions from its FLITE (Federal Legal Information Through Electronics)

United States Code 

The United States Code is prepared and published by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel, U.S. House of Representatives. This database contains the general and permanent laws of the United States.

Permanent laws of the United States categorized by Title. West takes the United States Code  based on the Statutes at Large (Public Laws) and adds annotations with references to court cases and regulations.

United States Supreme Court. United States Reports.  Cases Adjudged in the Supreme Court.  Washington:  U. S. Govt.; Print. Off. 1921-Present.

This series contains the official decisions rendered by the United States Supreme Court during the course of its 200 year history. The most recent rulings are available as Slip Opinions. Finalized bound editions are published within a couple years of a court's term.
