The post-master’s certificate in behavior analysis is designed for students who already have a master’s degree and wish to develop their knowledge and training in applied behavior analysis. The certificate program is offered under the direction of the Saint Joseph’s graduate criminal justice program and courses are approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB). The certificate program meets the course content requirement to sit for the BACB exam.

For the Post Masters Certificate, students take the six behavior analysis concentration courses.

The six Behavior Analysis Concentration courses are:

CRJ 622  Basic Principles of Behavior
CRJ 623  Applied Behavior Analysis
CRJ 624  Behavior Analysis: Consultation
CRJ 625  Behavioral Development
CRJ 626  Clinical Behavior Analysis
CRJ 657  Ethics in Behavior Analysis

The applications of behavior analysis are very broad, serving those who provide a variety of behavior management services, including individuals trained as behavior specialists, mobile therapists, educational consultants, speech-language pathologists, school counselors, social workers, criminal justice professionals, and human services professionals. Learn more about applied behavior analysis through the Association for Behavior Analysis International©.

Behavior analysis is recognized as a "best practice" in the field of autism, behavioral health, addiction and corrections. Throughout this program, students will develop the skills to transfer basic principles of behavior analysis into effective comprehensive functional behavioral assessments, behavioral interventions and program evaluation. There is a strong demand for certified behavior analyst professionals, especially those who specialize in autism spectrum disorders.

This certificate is offered online and on-campus and is also available as a concentration within the M.S. criminal justice program.
