Professional Education M.S. (no certification)
Saint Joseph’s University offers the M.S. in professional education to meet the diverse continuing professional development needs of teachers and other working professionals. This degree program provides a flexible curriculum focused on a student’s goals for developing competencies in a variety of areas within the education field.
The M.S. in professional education is a 36-credit course of study designed for students interested in the field of education but do not wish to pursue certification. Subject area concentrations are offered in biology, mathematics and computer science, and students complete both coursework and relevant field experiences.
Candidates for this program include a variety of professional educators, including in-service teachers who already hold Level I or Level II certification, international students who wish to teach outside the United States and individuals from areas other than K-12 education who are seeking an advanced degree to develop the theoretical knowledge and skills that enhance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process.
