The ESL specialist program certificate is a five-course (16-credit) program consisting of the following required coursework and field experiences.

• Language and Culture with Field Experience (three credits)
• English Linguistics (three credits)
• Second Language Acquisition (three credits)
• Methods of Teaching English as a Second Language with Field Experience (three credits)
• Internship in ESL/Bilingual Programs with Field Experience (four credits)
