Degree Requirements

Students must take 6 art history courses.  There are no prerequisites for any art history courses.  All courses fulfill the art/lit requirement.  Courses include:

  • Early Christian and Medieval Art and Architecture 
  • Renaissance Art and Architecture: from Michelangelo and Leonardo to Bosch and Dürer 
  • Baroque Art and Architecture: from Bernini and Caravaggio to Rubens and Rembrandt 
  • Revolution to Realism: 1770-1870 
  • Impressionism and Post-Impressionism: From Monet and Cassatt to Van Gogh andCézanne
