Griffin has served adult undergraduate and graduate students at Saint Joseph's for more than 27 years and will continue to serve nontraditional undergraduates in her new role at the University.

School Starts Early for Service-Minded SJU Freshmen

PHILADELPHIA (August 22, 2011) - Now in its fifth year, Saint Joseph's University's Philadelphia Service Immersion Program (PSIP) will bring nearly 100 first-year students to campus four days prior to the arrival of their peers for a pre-orientation experience that immerses them in the cultural life of the city and the Ignatian values that guide the University's mission.

Grant Brings Professional Development to District Math Teachers

PHILADELPHIA (August 19, 2011) - In an effort to boost student achievement in mathematics in the School District of Philadelphia, math education specialist Tetyana Berezovski, Ph.D., assistant professor of mathematics at Saint Joseph's University, applied for and was awarded a highly competitive Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP) Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The three-year award provides professional development for high school math teachers in the District.

Faculty Exhibition Kicks off Inaugural SJU Gallery Show

PHILADELPHIA (August 12, 2011) – Beginning Monday, Aug. 22, through Fri., Sept. 23, the work of 10 Saint Joseph’s University faculty members from the Department of Art will be shown in the new Saint Joseph’s University Gallery located in Merion Hall, the first official exhibition held in the gallery space on the James J. Maguire ’58 Campus. An artists’ reception will be held Thurs., Sept. 8 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Interreligious Expert Re-Elected to ICCJ Board

PHILADELPHIA (August 2, 2011) - Philip A. Cunningham, Ph.D., of West Chester, Pa., professor of theology and director of Saint Joseph’s University’s Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations (IJCR) has been re-elected to a second term as second vice president of the International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ), an umbrella organization of 38 Jewish-Christian dialogue organizations worldwide.
