PHILADELPHIA (August 28, 2009) – The undergraduate business program at Saint Joseph’s University was included in "U.S.News & World Report America's Best Colleges 2010." The magazine also ranked the University’s marketing program among the nation’s best. This achievement is a first for both Erivan K. Haub School of Business programs.
“I believe our inclusion in this year’s rankings demonstrates the Haub School is recognized for the industry-focused curriculum we offer our students,” says Erivan K. Haub School of Business Dean Joseph DiAngelo Jr., Ed.D. ’70.
The undergraduate business curriculum offers programs in risk management and insurance, financial planning, accounting, business intelligence, international business, as well as marketing.
The industry-focused curriculum supports students’ desires to secure employment in their chosen fields after graduation. Over the past ten years, approximately 94 percent of job-seeking Erivan K. Haub School of Business graduates have landed jobs.
DiAngelo says the University’s marketing program achieved distinction because of the many options Saint Joseph’s offers students within the field. In addition to the marketing major, the Haub School offers programs in food, pharmaceutical, sports and entertainment marketing.
Joseph Hastain, an incoming student from Virginia Beach, is looking forward to studying entertainment marketing at Saint Joseph’s. “I chose Saint Joseph’s for the reputation of the Haub School and because the University is located in Philly,” says Hastain. “I am mostly looking forward to the Philly music scene and working with the record label.”
The University’s record label, 1851 Records, is a recent addition to the entertainment marketing program which has been received with enthusiasm by current and prospective students interested in careers within this field.
In addition to the Erivan K. Haub School of Business program rankings, The "America's Best Colleges" 2010 edition of U.S. News & World Report has ranked Saint Joseph's University among the top 15 master's universities in the north for the 12th consecutive year.
