Neighborhood Children Enjoy Belated Halloween at SJU
Friday, November 5, 2010
What: It’s so much fun – it’s scary! Saint Joseph’s University’s Boo Crew 2010 brings elementary school trick-or-treaters who live in at-risk neighborhoods to freshmen dorms where SJU students will distribute Halloween goodies from their rooms. Afterwards, everyone will gather for face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.
Where: Saint Joseph’s University Sourin and LaFarge Residence Halls City and Cardinal Avenues Philadelphia, Pa., 19131
When: Friday, Nov. 5 3-5 p.m.
Who: More than 150 children, ages 6-11 from Gompers Elementary, Methodist Services, Gesu and Holy Name schools will be entertained by 200 Saint Joseph’s students.
Highlight: Co-sponsored by Campus Ministry and Residence Life, SJU’s annual Boo Crew event provides an opportunity for children who might not be able to participate in this seasonal tradition. Participants may live in neighborhoods that are unable to provide a safe environment for walking, or may come from households in which parents or guardians are unavailable for trick-or-treating due to work commitments and other responsibilities.
