PHILADELPHIA (December 21, 2007) — Saint Joseph's University has named Gregory J. Geruson of Jenkintown, Pa., vice president for development and alumni relations effective January 14. In his new role, Geruson will lead Saint Joseph's through its recently launched $150 million capital campaign "With Faith and Strength to Dare."

Geruson joined Saint Joseph's University in 2004 as director of leadership gifts, became executive director for leadership gifts and campaign planning in 2005, and was elevated to assistant vice president in 2006. Most recently, Geruson assisted in the planning and implementation of the newly launched campaign, and continues to be involved in the fundraising for the acquisition of the neighboring Episcopal Academy property, named the University's Maguire Campus.

Prior to joining SJU, Geruson served as vice president for institutional advancement at Holy Ghost Preparatory School, where he managed three capital campaigns raising an impressive $7 million for the school, and established the Fr. Henry J. Brown Endowment Fund, which raised $1 million in planned gifts.

After obtaining degrees from La Salle University, where he was awarded the John McShain Award for academic excellence, and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Geruson rose through the ranks at Andersen Consulting to become a manager. He has served on numerous boards, is a former trustee of La Salle University, and was vice president of ADVIS, the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools.
