In 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring April 2 World Autism Day. This year, SJU joins 500 landmark sites in 120 U.S. cities and 25 countries around the globe – including the Empire State Building (New York), the TN Tower (Toronto, Canada), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Cleveland) and the Sydney Opera House (Australia) – that will light up blue to call attention to the many children, adults and families affected by autism.

SJU established the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support to offer programs and resources to help families and professionals cope with the challenges of autism. For more information on the Kinney Center, visit kinneyautism.sju.edu.
