SJU Hawks Attempt to “Flap” Their Way into Record Book
"Flapitude 2012" to kickoff scholarship fundraising initiative

Highlight: Celebrating National Philanthropy Day and Guinness World Records Day, the Saint Joseph's Hawk will lead up to 1,000 SJU students, faculty, staff and alumni in an attempt to set a world record for the longest simultaneous "group flap." Rally-goers will flap continuously for at least five minutes to show gratitude to supporters of a new scholarship initiative at the University during a rally dubbed "Flapitude 2012."
Philadelphia Eagles legend and Hawk alumnus Vince Papale '68 is a featured guest speaker and will participate in the record-setting "Flapitude" event.
Details: University President C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. '72, will kick off the rally by making the first public announcement about his Magis Scholarship Initiative, a fundraising effort to enable the University to offer more scholarship support to its students.
