Students Plan Sustainable Activities to Celebrate Earth Week

What: Earth Day becomes Earth Week at Saint Joseph’s University with eco-conscious student organizations sponsoring a variety of terra-friendly events to raise awareness of sustainable lifestyle options on campus.

Highlights: Saint Joseph’s students will clean up both sides of City Avenue and Fairmount Park’s Morris Park; attend a lecture on living green by environmental educator Mike Weilbacher; plant flowers with Gompers students on SJU’s campus; encourage others to “Lose the Lot” by walking or taking the shuttle to classes; turn off the lights and power down neighboring campus dorms to reduce energy consumption; participate in bike and other giveaways.
Who: Events are sponsored by two student organizations: G.R.E.E.N. C.O.W (Get Ready for Environmental Education Now Conserve Our Wildlife) and Resident Hawks Association. Earth Week Events
