PHILADELPHIA (September 18, 2014) — Saint Joseph’s University and Anne Welsh McNulty awarded four young women from the Class of 2018 the John P. McNulty Scholarship for Excellence in Science and Math. Three of the scholars received four-year, full-tuition, merit-based scholarships and will be immersed in an intensive mentoring and research program.
PHILADELPHIA (September 12, 2014) — The fall career fair at Saint Joseph’s University on Tuesday, September 23, will bring students together with over 175 employers representing fields such as financial services, retail, food marketing and advertising, as well as nonprofits and government agencies. Saint Joseph’s University’s Academy of Risk Management and Insurance (ARMI) will present its Insurance Executive of the Year award to ACE Limited Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Evan G. Greenberg. The University will award Greenberg during a dinner honoring him at the Union League in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.
PHILADELPHIA (August 19, 2014) — Saint Joseph’s University has opened a new Office of Veterans Services to serve as a central place for student veterans to meet with trained staff for academic and specialized support.
Saint Joseph’s University President C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. ’72 announced today his plans to step down at the end of his term in June 2015. The Board of Trustees will form a representative committee of students, faculty, alumni and staff to conduct a national search for his successor, one that will be conducted during the 2014-15 academic year.
SJU has received a $299,552 NSF grant from the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program for research seeking to influence teacher retention rates in STEM disciplines.
PHILADELPHIA (August 6, 2014) — Stephany Loaiza ’16, a biology major, has received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to support her study abroad during the fall semester at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
Loaiza, who is interested in biological diversity and animal studies, will use her time in Sydney to continue her study of the living world in a rich biotic environment.
