PHILADELPHIA (August, 17, 2010) - U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” 2011 edition has again ranked Saint Joseph’s University among the top 15 master’s universities in the north. The rankings, which were released on August 17, placed Saint Joseph’s at No. 13 among 179 institutions in its category, Best Regional Universities (North). It is the thirteenth consecutive year that SJU has been ranked in the top 15.
University President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J., said it’s gratifying to see that Saint Joseph’s University so consistently maintains its ranking among the top in its category. “A values-driven education grounded in our commitment to social justice and a transformative student experience that are the hallmarks of a Saint Joseph’s education are affirmed by this recognition among our peers,“ he said.
“The strength of a university is not easily quantified by a single number. But this substantiates what we know to be true: Saint Joseph’s has successfully embraced the Jesuit educational vision of ‘concern for the individual student’ (cura personalis) as an essential complement to instilling a love of learning and pursuit of the highest intellectual and professional achievement.”
