PHILADELPHIA (October 15, 2012) -- Saint Joseph’s University will conduct an emergency preparedness exercise on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., in LaFarge Hall and in the surrounding area on the University’s Philadelphia campus. The drill will consist of a simulated crisis scenario involving armed individuals on campus.

On hand to celebrate were more than 60 presidents and delegates from other colleges and universities, alumni, faculty, staff, students and Fr. Gillespie’s friends and family.
What: The Kinney Center will host a carnival for families and donors, the SJU community, and the local autism community. The carnival is one of many events celebrating the official inauguration of C. Kevin Gillespie S.J. ’72 as 27th president of Saint Joseph’s University. The carnival will feature games and activities, food, and face painting for all ages.

The inaugural ceremony will take place in the Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena on the Saint Joseph’s campus, with the procession starting at 10:30 a.m. and the ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.
SJU Reads, Saint Joseph's community-wide, yearlong reading program brings Dave Eggers' 2009 award-winning non-fiction book Zeitoun to campus. Zeitoun chronicles the plight of a Syrian-born American citizen who chooses to stay in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Interdisciplinary programming for SJU Reads includes a film series, lectures and panel discussions that explore and illuminate topics raised by the book.
On Thursday, Sept. 20, the Career Development Center hosted 135 employers on campus for the annual fall career fair in the Athletics Center.
