Acanthodes sp.

Acanthodes

Acanthodes has few skull bones, no teeth, fins supported by spines, and a complete covering of very fine cuboidal scales. This image shows some of the jaw- and shoulder-associated bones, a pectoral fin spine, and the characteristic scales.
