Echinochimaera snyderi

Echinochimaera snyderi

The second species of the genus Echinochimaera differs from E. meltoni in jaw shape, the presence of an anterior upper tooth family rather than a tooth plate, and details of the first dorsal, pelvic, and anal fins. The specimen illustrated was an immature male (the scale bar is 1 cm). A mature male collected after the published descriptions is considerably larger than the male of E. meltoni.
