2009-2010 Merit Scholarship And Financial Aid Facts

In the 2008-2009 academic year, approximately 85 percent of the University´s student body received assistance in the form of academic and athletic scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study funds, either singly or in combination. Despite the high costs of college today, families have found the educational experience at Saint Joseph’s University to be affordable, manageable, and a worthwhile investment.

Saint Joseph´s remains resolute in its tradition of extending educational opportunities to academically qualified students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, to make a Saint Joseph’s University education a reality.

Each year, Saint Joseph’s University awards merit scholarships to freshman candidates with outstanding academic records. We will automatically consider you for a scholarship at the time of your admission application.

A Saint Joseph’s University education is truly an investment in the student’s future. One could even look at it in purely financial terms: On average, those with bachelor’s degrees earn double what those with just a high school diploma earn. According to the U.S. Department of Education, this translates to roughly $2.1 million over a lifetime.

Regardless of family income, we encourage you to apply for admission and financial aid. A composite financial aid award package of grants, merit scholarships, part-time work study, and low-interest loans can add up to make the cost of education more affordable. Like other major investments, the educational experience is made for the long term and appreciates in value.
