A signature program of Saint Joseph’s University and the Office of Institutional Diversity, the Ignatian College Connection (ICC) program was founded in 2004, by Rev. George Bur, S.J., former Rector of the Jesuit Community at Saint Joseph’s University. The program is offered to high school students beginning in their freshman year and serves to provide an additional source of pre-collegiate guidance.
In the 2008-09 academic year, Saint Joseph’s University has four cohorts of Ignatian College Connection Scholars enrolled at the University. These thirty scholars who were targeted during their high school years represent a diverse group of talented students.
Mission:
The ICC program aims to:
- Expose students from diverse ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds to higher education and Saint Joseph's University during their high school years.
- Assist its targeted population prepare for college by providing college awareness and enrichment programs.
- Provide continued support and mentorship, along with need-based scholarship to a select number of ICC Scholars enrolled at Saint Joseph’s University.
