Jeff Bachovchin, MS
Executive Director of Web and Support Services, Information Technology
Jeff Bachovchin has been a member of the Saint Joseph's community for nearly 25 years. Jeff joined the University in 1985 as a student, earning a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. After a year away, he rejoined SJU as a staff member in the Office of Information Technology from 1990-98. After another brief stint away from the University, he returned in 2003 as the Director of Web Services. Currently, as the Executive Director of Web and Support Services, Jeff leads the Web Services and Support Services Teams in IT. He holds a Masters of Science in Engineering in the Management of Technology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeff recently participated in the first cohort of the SJU Leadership Development Program and has attended various other professional development programs including the EDUCAUSE Institute's Management and Leadership Programs. He is a member of the Internal Advisory Board of the SJU Institute of Bioethics and member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).
Karin L. Botto, MS
Manager of Training & Organizational Development
Karin Botto has worked for Saint Joseph’s University since July 1996. Before assuming her current position, Karin worked in Enrollment Management as Director of Retention Services. She is a skilled facilitator, instructional designer and coach. Karin is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator which she has used with over 500 individuals. She has advanced training in using MBTI for executive coaching and building high performance teams. In addition, Karin is qualified to administer the Organization & Team Culture Indicator published by the Center for Applications of Psychological Type and Benchmarks (360 degree feedback tool), Executive Dimensions and Prospector published by the Center for Creative Leadership.
Karin holds her Masters of Science in Training & Organizational Development from Saint Joseph’s University and her Bachelors of Arts in Communications and Theater from Lycoming College.
Dawn Burdsall, CPA, MBA
Director of Planning & Assessment
Dawn Burdsall has been employed by Saint Joseph's University since 1989. Dawn's career with SJU started in the Office of Financial Affairs as a Financial Analyst and progressed to Budget Director. Since 2002 she has served in her current capacity as Director of Planning and Assessment. Dawn has served as chair of Budget Advisory Committee and is currently still a member. She is also a member of the Institutional Planning Committee. Dawn holds a Masters of Business and Administration degree from SJU and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University. She is also a CPA and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Dawn recently participated in the first cohort of the Leadership Development Program here at SJU. She is also a graduate of the HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration and is currently pursuing a certificate from the SCUP (Society of College and University Planning) Planning Institute. In addition to these work activities, Dawn has served as a Board member of the Saint Laurence Home & School Association and is currently Treasurer of the St. Laurence Scrip Program.
Valerie Dudley, Ph.D.
Director of Institutional Diversity
Dr. Valerie Dudley joined Saint Joseph’s in 2005 as Director of the newly created office of Institutional Diversity. Valerie is designated as the chief diversity officer for the university and is responsible for the advancement of diversity and equity through the active engagement of the University Community and achievement of diversity goals that are included in the mission and strategic plans of Saint Joseph’s University.
Previously, Valerie worked at The Pennsylvania State University as a diversity education specialist for the Office of Affirmative Action and as a Course and Curriculum Consultant for the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence. Prior to that, she was the Employment Manager at West Chester University. Valerie has worked in Higher education for over 25 years.
Valerie earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Cheyney State University, a Master’s of Administration from Antioch University and her Ph.D in Education (Instructional Systems) from The Pennsylvania State University.
Nicole Ferretti, MBA
Director of Budgeting and Forecasting
Nicole joined Saint Joseph's University in 2004. Hired as a Senior Budget Analyst, she currently holds the position of Director of Budgeting and Forecasting. In this capacity, she is responsible for creating and administering the University's operating and capital budgets. In addition, she serves on the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC), Institutional Planning Committee (IPC), the Opportunity Fund Committee, the Tuition and Enrollment Analysis Committee (TEAC) and is a member of the Women's Network Leadership Team.
Prior to joining the University, Nicole held various positions in accounting and finance with GMAC Mortgage and ARAMARK Corporation. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Gwynedd Mercy College and an MBA from Saint Joseph's University. She is a member of NACUBO.
John J. McCall
Professor of Philosophy and Management
Director of the Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics
Dr. John McCall's scholarly work is primarily in Business Ethics with a special focus on issues of employee rights. He is co-author/co-editor, with Josephs R. DesJardins, of Contemporary Issues in Business Ethics, now in its 5th edition. His articles have appeared in, among other venues, Business Ethics Quarterly, The Journal of Business Ethics, Social Justice Research, The Journal of Change Management, The Blackwell Encyclopedic Dictionary of Business Ethics, Business Ethics- A European Review and The Review of Business.
In addition to Saint Joseph's, John has taught at the McDonough School of Business of Georgetown University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Iowa State University. He served as Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 2004-2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame.
Sharon O'Grady Eisenmann, M.S., SPHR
Assistant Vice President of Human Resources
Sharon O’Grady Eisenmann currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Saint Joseph’s University. Sharon joined the university in 2004, having served as the Director of Human Resources for Gwynedd-Mercy College from 1994 to 2004 and as Director of Human Resources for Jones Apparel Group for the prior six years. Altogether, Sharon has 22 years of human resources management experience, including employee and labor relations, organizational design, compensation analysis, benefits management and training and development experience.
Sharon holds an M.S. in Education from Gwynedd-Mercy College and a B.S. in Education from Chestnut Hill College. She is certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management and is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources as well as the Pennsylvania Human Resources Planning Society.
Marianne Schimelfenig, Esq.
General Counsel
Marianne received her J.D. from the Lewis & Clark Northwestern School of Law; her M.A. from the University of Scranton and B.A. from Marywood University. Before becoming Gerneral Counsel at Saint Joseph's University, she served for 10 years as General Cousel for Saint Mary's College of California and, prior to that for 8 years as Trial Counsel in the Office of The General Counsel for The Regents of the University of California.
Prior to her practice in higher education law, Marianne was a partner in the Portland, Oregon law firm of Spears Lubersky (now Lane Powell). She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania as Saint Joseph's General Counsel and is a member of the bar in Oregon, California, New York and the District of Columbia. Marianne is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Earlier in her career, Marianne taught high school in Pennsylvania and New York, worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and was employed as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the Clorox Company. Among other professional volunteer activities, Marianne serves as a director of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and as a member of the NCAA General Counsel Advisory Board. She is also a NACUA officer and has served as chairperson and vice-chairperson of various NACUA committees. In addition, she has been a speaker in various higher education settings, including NACUA, NACUBO, ACCU, CIC and AGB.
