Constitution
Article 1: Name
This Organization shall be known as the Resident Hawk Association, or RHA.
Article 2: Membership and Voting
Membership
All undergraduate students at Saint Joseph’s University community are eligible for membership in the RHA.
Membership in the RHA may not be denied on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, sex, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, national origin, religion, or political affiliation.
Membership status will terminate when an individual is no longer part of the Saint Joseph’s University community.
Voting
Qualification of voting rights
General Members
Students will be able to vote after attending three (3) consecutive general meetings.
Executive Board
Individuals who are part of the Executive Board will have voting rights as long as they are part of the Executive Board.
Voting Procedures
Any member may make a motion to be voted on
All motions to vote will be presented to the RHA President
Upon receiving the motion, the RHA President will either put the motion up for immediate vote or set a schedule to vote on the motion at a later date.
Motions must be approved by the majority of members present and two thirds (2/3) of the Executive Board.
Article 4: Executive Board

President
Vice President for Chapter Operations
Vice President for Finance
Vice President of Programming
The National Communications Coordinator (as directed by NACURH)
Meetings
Executive Board meetings will be held a minimum of two (2) times a month during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Elections
The Executive Board term will run from January 1st to December 31st of one calendar year.
Executive Board elections will be held at the end of the Fall Semester.
Only those who have been members for a full calendar year may run for President.
Election Procedures:
The Executive Board will set the schedule for elections that will take place no earlier than November 1st.
Upon setting a date for elections, the President will immediately notify the membership of the date and publish a description of each position on the Executive Board
One week before the election, all members interested in running for a position must notify the President of their intent to run for a position. They must give their name, class year, the position they are running for and an explanation of why they are running for a position on the Executive Board.
Voting will be done by secret ballot and will be counted by the President and recounted by another member of the Executive Board.
The President will preside over the elections.
Order of elections: President, Vice President for Chapter Operation, Vice President for Finance, National Communications Chair and Vice President for Publicity.
The RHA Advisor will confirm election results.
The Executive Board-elect and the outgoing Executive Board will meet at least once after the elections, but before the end of the Fall Semester to work out transitional issues.
Removal
An Executive Board Members are subject to removal from office. (Additional notes on official constitution)
Article 5: Meetings
General meetings will occur bimonthly unless otherwise decided by Executive Board with sufficient notice.
Article 6: Amending and Ratification
This Constitution upon being ratified by two thirds (2/3) of the voting RHA members in attendance at a general meeting and four fifths (4/5) of the Executive Board, may be amended by four fifths (4/5) of RHA members in attendance at a general meetings in addition to four fifths (4/5) of the Executive Board. Any member may propose an amendment in writing to the President.
